At Hazelmere Retirement Community, life is about more than just comfort—it’s about connection, joy, and meaningful experiences. This Easter, Hazelmere once again demonstrated how vibrant and fulfilling community living can be, with a series of events that brought residents, families, and staff together in celebration. With blooming flowers, joyful traditions, and plenty of laughter, our residents and team came together to celebrate not just the holiday—but the vibrant spirit of community that defines life at Hazelmere.

Easter Joy, the Hazelmere Way

Our Easter festivities kicked off with one of the most anticipated events of the season: the Easter Brunch. Residents gathered in the dining room to enjoy a delicious meal crafted by our talented kitchen staff—think fluffy hot cross buns, spring vegetables, and everyone’s favorite carrot cake. The room was filled with conversation, music, and the aroma of home-style cooking.

And what’s Easter without a little fun? The Easter Egg Hunt brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Children from the local neighborhood joined residents in the courtyard to hunt for colorful eggs, while grandparents and great-grandparents proudly looked on. These moments of intergenerational connection remind us how precious community bonds really are.

Crafts, Music & Meaningful Moments

In the days leading up to Easter, our activity room was buzzing with creativity. Residents painted eggs, made spring wreaths, and wrote cheerful cards as part of our “Share the Joy” initiative—spreading kindness to other seniors in nearby care homes and shelters.

Leading up to Easter Sunday, Hazelmere hosted a variety of community-focused activities. Residents participated in Easter-themed arts and crafts, creating handmade decorations and cards, many of which were shared with neighboring care homes and local shelters as part of a “Share the Joy” outreach initiative.

We also welcomed a local choir for an uplifting Easter concert that filled our hearts with beautiful music. Singing along to familiar hymns and springtime tunes, residents found comfort, joy, and a shared sense of celebration.
